Six Years Later: Stacie’s Bucket List

It’s been about six years since I wrote my bucket list, and I’d like to share my progress (and lack thereof).

I’ve simply copied it from a previous post below, with notes and additions in whatever color this and this is. (Clearly, they are not simply “red” and “orange,” but I do not know their precise terms.)

Stacie’s Wanna-Do-Before-I-Die list:

  1. Marry my “baby daddy.” ← (That’s for you, mom. Ha Ha.) P.S. He’s much more than that. Done.
  2. Get manuscript published (I have to finish it first.).
  3. Have another baby. Yep.
  4. Make a living as a writer.
  5. Build my stockpile. Slowly but surely.
  6. Build a basement/storeroom.
  7. Visit all 50 states. (21 31 of 50, if you count just driving through.)
  8. Go RV’ing and see as many U.S. historical markers as I can find.
  9. Go snorkeling.
  10. Go on a cruise.
  11. Visit the Caribbean.

  20. Grow a garden. Yeah buddy.
  21. Can my own food. You know it.
  22. Ride in a helicopter.
  23. Research genealogy as far back as the 1500’s for at least one branch of the loony tree. (I say that with love.)
  24. Meet my biological father. (maybe)
  25. Meet any other relatives on his side of family (possible half-siblings or aunts/uncles/grandparents?).
  26. Get sufficient medical history if not meeting them.
  27. Get a horse, some chickens, a couple of cows, and maybe a cat (We already have two dogs one dog and two goats.). Cats–plural.
  28. Go gambling. Doneskees!
  29. Float the river (any river) again. Yup.
  30. Go parasailing.
  31. See the bluest, clearest water in the world (Any ideas on this? Caribbean maybe?).
  32. Go to Australia (For my Pappaw, because he didn’t get to.).
  33. Save my grandparents’ homestead from ruin. *Sigh* I think so far, so good. Things are looking up. Changes are good sometimes.
  34. Visit Mayan ruins.
  35. Go spelunking.
  36. Go rock climbing.
  37. Run naked in the rain.
  38. Go hang gliding.
  39. Ride a jet ski.
  40. Visit Africa.

  42. Successfully quit smoking. D-U-N, done!
  43. Complete Associate degree. Done-skee.
  44. Get Bachelor’s degree.
  45. Visit the National Archives in Washington, DC.
  46. See the Golden Gate Bridge.

  55. See my kids graduate college, get married, and have babies of their own (if they want to).
  56. Get Master’s degree.

Perhaps not too shabby after all.
